Welcome to Two Wolves Wellness

Hello and welcome to Two Wolves Wellness! I’m so glad you’re here. Before committing to your journey of self healing you may be curious about who I am so I’ll take a little of your time to give you some background.

My name is Rosalyn and I’m from San Antonio, Texas. The land of delicious Mexican food, hot summers, and Southern hospitality. I grew up in an extended family of doctors, nurses, lawyers, and engineers while not quite feeling like that was the path for me or the way my brain worked. My interest was always people. What motivates someone? What makes the mind do what it does? How do people interact with one another and choose to do what they do? So in college I studied human sciences, psychology, sociology, and business. All leading me to a current decade long career in marketing and advertising.

But while growing up I also struggled with anxiety and not knowing what it was for quite some time. I wrote about this in depth on the blog which you can read here. But this anxiety was a catalyst for trying to find ways to help me regulate my nervous system, emotions, and mind. There were so may things I found that helped like yoga, meditation, being in nature, and energy healing to name a few. And the helpful things never left me, they lit up an excitement to learn more and once I felt like I was finally finding meaningful and impactful ways that could help me live in a state of balance I knew I wanted to help others experience the same. That led me to finding Reiki and learning from several teachers, most recently being Yolanda Williams, with whom I’ve learned in the lineage of Usui Reiki Ryoho and completed Shoden, Okuden, and Shinpiden levels. I will forever be grateful for what she has taught me and for her continued mentorship and support in this journey of becoming a Reiki Shihan (Reiki Master).

My daily Reiki practice has become a non-negotiable. Reiki is a system that has led me to understand myself on a deeper level. To see myself from an outside perspective to understand what makes me tick, why, and how I can grow through that. It gives me opportunities to heal and harmonize my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual body. It is a way that I show myself love and appreciation and respect for who I am and how I move through this life. It isn’t just a practice of laying the hands for healing, it’s a way to work with the intention and focus of the mind for greater balance. It’s also a practice that has allowed me to feel the most alive and grateful in this life and how to live my days more fully present.

To share Reiki with others feels like an immense gift. To be able to create a space where someone can come and dedicate time for themselves to be open, receptive and empowered to heal will always make my heart feel full. The simplicity of Reiki is beautiful but the way that each person’s experience is so individually unique always fascinates me. But Reiki is not the only system of healing that I use. I let any modality that draws my attention get time to be understood and the ones that resonate with me usually stick around. Things like oracle and tarot cards, runes, and sound healing. I am no absolute expert in one craft but I find being able to be flexible and mix the modalities allows for even greater opportunities for understanding the self and others.

The name Two Wolves Wellness is a reminder of the duality of self and the importance of intentional choice. The inspiration came from a passed down Cherokee story of a Grandfather telling his grandson that there are two wolves within him. One filled with anger, envy, jealousy, doubt, sorrow, and regret. The other filled with peace, love, hope, humility, generosity, and kindness. This creates a battle within. It represents the human experience – we can feel both anger, hate, and destruction while also feeling love, peace, and joy. But how do we find balance in this? Which wolf wins? The Cherokee Grandfather would tell you “it’s the one you feed”. It’s your intention of mind. You may have heard the saying “where attention goes, energy flows” and this is exactly that. The things you direct your mind to create your inner world, and what is created in your inner world becomes your outer world. If we can learn ways to understand how our inner world functions and where our mind naturally goes, we can create the harmony we seek while learning from all that is uncovered.

I appreciate you being here. I appreciate you taking a little time to learn more about me and I hope that my story may show you in a small way that healing is a journey. It is not an overnight fix and it isn’t always an easy path but it is attainable and it is worth it. My greatest wish for you is that you find the peace and happiness you are searching for and if I can facilitate in that journey I am honored.

Love and light always,

Rosalyn
